Blue Pillar is a leading provider of software-based solutions that increase real time visibility and control of distributed energy assets. The Company is a leader in providing Internet of Things (IoT) connectivity to critical energy management and centralized facility management solutions, effectively providing Distributed Energy Resource Management Systems (DERMS) in over 250 customer deployments since its inception. “Our investment in what is now known as the Internet of Things space (“IoT”) has always been a key part of the EnerTech investment strategy. Blue Pillar aligns with our themes of investing in innovative technologies that promote behind the meter networking, enabling monitoring, control and energy management capabilities while facilitating the interface between building metering, electrical equipment, mechanical equipment, on-site generation and renewables. Our investment in Blue Pillar represents our 10th investment in EnerTech IV. The Company has great synergies with several of our existing portfolio companies” said Wally Hunter, Managing Director EnerTech Capital.

“Blue Pillar has built its business connecting distributed energy assets for demanding and complex customers”, said Bill Kingsley, Managing Director of EnerTech Capital. “The speed of deployment enabled by its software approaches always impressed us, but the recent customer adoption showed that Blue Pillar’s strategies and products are valued by customers looking for energy management solutions with strong return on investment. We believe in the Company’s strategy and look forward to working with the existing investors and management team to drive the rapid growth of Blue Pillar.”

“Blue Pillar’s approach to solving complicated energy issues in the world’s most critical facilities makes us very unique in the energy space,” said Tom Willie, CEO of Blue Pillar. “Our secure, rapid configuration and control capabilities can be leveraged to meet many emerging marketplace needs in connecting disparate assets. This financing enables Blue Pillar to continue to build on the tremendous momentum we achieved in 2014, and seize the breakout opportunities emerging in 2015.”

Blue Pillar’s Aurora, Avise Insite™ and Avise Foresite software solutions address the most pressing challenges for today’s complex and critical facilities.
