California-based EcoMotion Joins the EnerTech Advanced Mobility Ecosystem

February 1st, 2024 Toronto, ON and Philadelphia, PA – EnerTech is pleased to announce that EcoMotion, a leader in smart energy management and climate action services, has joined the EnerTech Advanced Mobility Ecosystem (EAME). The EAME is a partnership EnerTech has formed with key mobility technology partners focused on creating an enhanced collaborative environment that will promote research and development, and commercialization of advanced mobility innovations across Canada and the US.

By joining the EAME, EcoMotion will advance its mission to empower business leaders and policy makers to make confident decisions on the adoption of these exciting new mobility technologies. The ecosystem’s geographic coverage and wide industry representation will help EcoMotion to expand its work across North America to facilitate knowledge sharing of best practices, showcase innovation, and celebrate leadership and success stories across diverse industry sectors and governments.

“We are proud to have EcoMotion join the EnerTech Advanced Mobility Ecosystem, which we continue to expand across North America. EcoMotion brings a long history of working with corporates and governments around smart energy management, climate action, and energy resilience. We believe EcoMotion will provide valuable thought leadership and world class insight around the integration of clean energy technologies and the e-mobility space,” said Wally Hunter, Managing Partner, EnerTech Capital.

“It’s an honor to join the EnerTech Advanced Mobility Ecosystem. Being part of this cutting-edge mobility ecosystem is ideally suited to our firm's interests and expertise. We are excited to work with industry leaders working towards green mobility just as we are rapidly greening the power sector. We look forward to connecting with the members and to rolling up our sleeves with this world-class group and contributing to EnerTech’s ecosystem to catalyze clean and sustainable mobility,” said Ted Flanigan, President, EcoMotion.

EnerTech has taken a lead role in building mobility ecosystems in both Canada and the US. EnerTech, along with two notable academic institutions – University of California-Davis, and Sacramento State University – was one of the Founding Partners in the California Mobility Center (CMC), a public-private collaborative formed in 2019 under the leadership of the Sacramento Municipal Utility District (SMUD). In Canada, EnerTech has brought together ecosystem partners including Alectra Utilities, Linamar Corp., Western University, Queens’ University, the University of Alberta, the University of Waterloo, Toronto Metropolitan University, and the University of Calgary. These partnerships focus on advancements in autonomy, electrification and alternative fuels, fleet management, data and connectivity, and transportation logistics with the aim of accelerating the development of enhanced batteries, autonomy, hydrogen as a fuel source, smart city technologies, and renewable energy.

As a leading firm in the mobility space, EnerTech has assumed a key role in building broad innovation partnerships, specifically working to create improved business engagement between industry leaders and early-stage innovation companies. We continue to grow our mobility ecosystems and we expect to announce new geographic expansions of the ecosystem in the coming months.
