EnerTech at CES 2023

Attending CES is always a exciting for EnerTech as we get to take in the newest and most innovative technologies in the industry. This year was no different.

Here are a few thoughts:

Gian Vergnetti

EnerTech was #INIT at CES 2023! The experience is difficult to put into words. It was indescribable to see so much of our ecosystem, IN PERSON, in one place! From the Fortune 500s to the pre-seed startups and everyone in between. We can’t wait to see all that’s in store and all that we have yet to accomplish together!

A huge shout out to all of our innovative strategic partners pioneering the future, including Caterpillar, Linamar, Adient, Pilot Flying J, SMUD, Alectra, and Smart Energy Water! We are at a time and place in history where innovation is rapidly and dynamically reshaping the world around us, and within us, in bold new ways.

We are all experiencing it, not just at CES, but everywhere. CES is a celebration of that, a meeting place that begins to give us a peak of what lies ahead for human ingenuity. No one knows for sure exactly what it looks like, but we know we are creating it, one step at a time, together.

No matter how many times I was told that CES is inspiring and overwhelming, it still blew my mind.

After 3 days of speed walking through different halls at the convention centers, visiting countless rooms at the Venetian, and dropping by as many booths as possible to learn about emerging tech in the mobility sector, I was definitely inspiring and overwhelmed.

The auto tech at the main showroom, which this article from WIRED has done a great job providing the highlights, attracts most of the crowd, whereas I spent most of my time touring at the back of the main halls and Eureka Park, where most of the exciting small companies were located.

In addition to innovations around MW EV charging, battery tech, ADAS, and data and connectivity, in-vehicle experience is one of the areas where a lot of innovative technologies are demonstrated, such as passenger health monitoring without wearables, sustainable materials for the automotive interior, and embedded audio tech to provide passengers with a personalized in-cinema experience. I continue to be amazed and humbled by these startups’ radical innovations and experimentation.

Like other conferences, the CES2023 was an opportunity to bump into old friends, to “finally” meet someone in-person or to observe attendee / potential customer interests in certain technologies – it was also where I became impressed by the Turkish coffee!

With years of experience investing in mobility technologies and a deep network with various industry stakeholders, EnerTech strives to collaborate with and bring value to both strategic partners and startups in the dynamic mobility ecosystem. I can’t wait until the world sees our next steps.
