Toronto, ON and Philadelphia, PA – March 24, 2026 - EnerTech Capital today announced that Christopher Thibodeau has joined the firm as an Executive-in-Residence (EIR). As a seasoned mobility executive with extensive experience in high-definition mapping and autonomous vehicle technologies, Thibodeau further strengthens EnerTech’s leadership in next-generation transportation and digital infrastructure investing.

Thibodeau most recently served as President & CEO of Dynamic Map Platform North America (formerly Ushr Inc.,) a leading high-definition mapping company enabling advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) and autonomous driving. Originally spun out of GeoDigital International, an EnerTech portfolio company, Ushr was acquired in 2019 by Dynamic Map Platform Co., Ltd. (DMP) of Japan. The successful exit earned EnerTech Capital the Canadian Venture Capital Association’s Deal of the Year award. Today, DMP supplies high-definition map data to General Motors and other OEMs such as Subaru, Nissan, and Rivian for use in advanced driver assistance and autonomous driving features. Thibodeau joined Ushr in 2015 and led the company through commercialization, strategic growth, and its cross-border transaction. He remained CEO of DMP North America until retiring at the end of 2025.
“I’ve worked with Chris for over 10 years,” said Scott Ungerer, Founder and Managing Partner of EnerTech Capital. “He brings deep insight into the technologies underpinning autonomous driving, the automotive industry’s approach to external innovation, and the execution of complex global transactions.”
Throughout his career, Thibodeau has been at the forefront of digital mapping innovation and automotive technology advancement. His leadership at Ushr and DMP helped accelerate the commercialization of HD mapping solutions critical to enabling advanced driver assistance systems and autonomous driving capabilities worldwide. Earlier in his career, Thibodeau was VP & GM of Infotainment at HARMAN International and held senior engineering and product leadership roles at Ford Motor Company and General Motors.
“EnerTech has consistently demonstrated its ability to identify and support transformative mobility technologies early,” said Thibodeau. “Having witnessed firsthand the firm’s long-term commitment through Ushr’s growth and acquisition, I’m excited to collaborate more closely with the team to help build the next generation of mobility leaders.”
As an EIR, Thibodeau will work closely with EnerTech’s investment team to identify and evaluate emerging opportunities across mobility, intelligent transportation systems, and digital infrastructure. He will also provide strategic guidance to portfolio companies navigating commercialization, strategic partnerships, and global market expansion.
“Chris has been an invaluable member of our mobility advisory board since 2023,” said Wally Hunter, Managing Partner at EnerTech Capital. “His deep industry relationships, operational leadership, and firsthand experience scaling transformative mobility technologies make him an exceptional addition to our Executive-in-Residence program. We are thrilled to formalize this next chapter of our partnership.”
Thibodeau’s appointment continues EnerTech’s tradition of bringing accomplished operators and industry veterans into its Executive-in-Residence program to help source opportunities, accelerate portfolio growth, and drive value creation across its investment platform.
