Sherwin Prior joined Lear Corporation in May 2021 as the Vice President of Innovation Ventures. Sherwin is responsible for managing and expanding Lear’s investments in, or partnerships with, start-ups and venture capital funds to bring innovative product technologies and strategic capabilities to Lear.

Prior to Lear, Sherwin was at Orbia; a global diversified conglomerate, where he served as Director of Orbia’s U.S. Corporate Venture Capital Fund. Sherwin brings over twenty years of career experience in venture capital investing and equity fund management, with previous service at notable companies such as Morgan Stanley and, more recently, General Motors. At GM, Sherwin spent almost a decade as the Managing Director of GM Ventures, where he managed a fund investing in companies in cleantech, infotainment, advanced materials, and other automotive-related technologies to support GM’s core business.

Sherwin earned his MBA from the Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan and received a Bachelor’s Degree in Business and Finance from Eastern Michigan University. He currently serves as a member of the EMU Foundation Board of Trustees and also as an EMU adjunct professor in finance.
